We have recently established a data science practice within CVCOSMOS, focused on driving innovation within the open-source data science technology stack. Our team is dedicated to delivering advanced business analytics, providing actionable insights to support product roadmap decisions for CVCOSMOS, and serving as industry leaders by promoting and advocating for open-source data science standards. As a Data Scientist at CVCOSMOS, your primary responsibility will be to generate actionable insights from data across our product ecosystem. You will design, deploy, and evaluate machine learning models at scale using cutting-edge infrastructure. Additionally, you will leverage a range of analytics capabilities to build decision-support tools, dashboards, monitoring systems, and reports. Collaboration with key stakeholders will be essential, as you work closely with them to build data products that support our diverse offerings, including projects related to Ubuntu Desktop and Server, as well as large-scale cloud infrastructure. Being at the forefront of technical development in open-source data science, you will have the opportunity to advocate for the solutions you help build at prestigious industrial and academic venues worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Data Scientist at CVCOSMOS, you will have the following responsibilities: Utilize our technology stack, which includes Django, R, Python, Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, and more, to develop data-driven solutions and models.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define business problems, develop data-driven strategies, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve real-world challenges at scale.
  • Conduct data preprocessing, cleansing, and feature engineering to ensure high data quality and model performance.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships that can drive business value.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and proactively propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate models and algorithms into production systems.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of best practices within the data science team.
  • By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a vital role in leveraging data to drive business decisions, develop predictive models, and contribute to the growth and success of CVCOSMOS.

Requirements:

  • The qualifications we are looking for in a Data Scientist at CVCOSMOS include: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Proficiency in rigorously and consistently applying the scientific method to problem-solving.
  • The ability to condense and analyze heterogeneous data into understandable and meaningful forms.
  • Experience working with open-source data platform software, covering the entire data pipeline from data ingestion to visualization.
  • Proficiency in the Python scientific stack, including knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with both relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases, along with the ability to effectively use SQL for data manipulation.
  • Proficiency in advanced usage of Linux as an operating system.
  • A basic understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • These qualifications will enable you to excel in the role, collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, and contribute to the technical development of data science solutions at CVCOSMOS.
